In support of Earth Day this year we're planting a tree for every purchase made online or in our Ponsonby Bohtique during April.

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22nd in an effort to broaden, educate, and activate the environmental movement across the globe.

To make it happen we've teamed up with Project Crimson - a conservation trust that has been working for 30 years to protect and restore native trees through programmes for restoration, environmental education and climate change in New Zealand - and will be donating a tree for every piece of jewellery sold to their ‘Trees That Count’ project.

This initiative to help fund more natives is not the first time Boh has planted trees for a good cause. Working with Project Crimson in her role as ambassador for The Mazda Foundation, she is usually among those doing the planting with their TREEmendous program for schools - that's her below with other volunteers post dig at Anchorage Park School.

TREEmendous

TREEmendous first sprung from the ground in 2008. Four New Zealand schools are chosen each year to have an area of their grounds turned into an outdoor classroom. To date 41 schools from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South have had the chance to create amazing native gardens and outdoor classrooms with the support of The Mazda Foundation and helping hands like Boh’s.

“Helping with TREEmendous is a small way that I can help contribute to taking care of our special part of the Earth” says Boh of her volunteer work.

“Taking small steps to help our environment can make a world of difference if everyone is consciously trying to do their 'bit'. Donating to Trees That Count is another small contribution, but it’s ultimately helping our future. More trees please!”

The Mazda Foundation is a quietly busy yet big achieving foundation that helps fund projects in five fields; Arts and Culture, Employment and Skills Development, Community, Education and Environmental Conservation and Awareness.
