Boh was born to a Malaysian Chinese mother and Māori father. As a baby, she didn’t have a name for the longest time so Boh’s mother would call her ‘bao bao’ (宝寶) meaning ‘precious treasure’ in Cantonese. Boh’s dad liked the sound of it and with a bit of creative spelling adapted the affectionate nickname to ‘bohboh’, which was eventually shortened to her name ‘Boh’.
Just as Boh’s name was a gift from her parents, bohboh is for meaningful, precious gifting that endures.
