Their feathers, magic tokens of devotion would bring loved ones back to you. Boh’s Kārearea, Miromiro and Fan Tail Pīwakawaka designs pay tribute to these Messenger Stories.
Behind The Design: Fan Tail
A natural progression from Birdland, The Messenger Stories was inspired by the fascinating tales born of Māori mythology. The relationships between Man and the spiritual world hold many learnings and such intrigue. There is still so much I’d love to explore. Pīwakawaka (Fantail) legends are intertwined with death but as we all know life and death and how we live in-between is what makes our time on Earth special and wholly our own.
