A Fresh Start: Cleaning Your Jewellery
Before you tuck your jewellery away, give it a gentle clean. Storing a tarnished piece beside a clean one can make both tarnish faster.
Our Foaming Jewellery Cleaner can be used on all precious metals (including plated pieces) diamonds, pearls, pounamu and other delicate gems and stones.
How to use it:
1. Apply foam to jewellery and allow to soak for 10–30 seconds
2. Gently work into grooves with a soft toothbrush
3. Rinse jewellery in water and gently pat with a soft cloth. Repeat if needed.
4. Finish by polishing your piece with a clean jewellery polishing cloth.
5. Make sure every piece is completely dry before storing.
Storing Your Pieces: Keep Them Cozy & Dry
Jewellery likes the same conditions we do: cool, dry, and out of harsh sunlight.
- A jewellery box with a lid is perfect, it keeps dust out and pieces separated.
- If you're using a drawer or tray, line it with a soft fabric to absorb moisture and prevent scratching.
- Store each piece separately so chains don’t tangle and metals don’t scratch one another.
- If space is tight, wrap pieces in tissue or soft cloth.
- Keep any silica gel packets you find in shoe boxes and pop them in with your jewellery. Little moisture magnets!
- Steam will speed up tarnishing, so avoid storing jewellery in the bathroom.
