Boh Runga Jewellery is made to be gifted.
Since the launch of the first collection, Birdland in 2007, Boh Runga Jewellery has been bought by women as a treat for themselves, for their mothers or daughters, friends and partners; and by men as something special for their loved ones.
In 2018 our place as a go-to brand for meaningful gifts was solidified when New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern chose to gift a pair of our earrings to Meghan Markle, The Duchess of Sussex, during her first Royal Tour of New Zealand.
The gold studs featured our iconic Feather Kiss crossed Miromiro feathers, one of the first and most loved of all of Boh’s designs.
For Boh, every collection starts with a story and every design has a message she hopes will resonate with its recipient. Wearable reminders of people and places you can take with you wherever you go.
Boh Runga is a dynamic creative force. Armed with a guitar, a sketchbook and a head full of ideas, Boh's creations flow from the stage to the streets.
After carving a pop career fronting her multi award-winning band stellar*, Boh’s solo album debut, Right Here, was released in 2009, the same year the first Boh Runga Jewellery collection, ‘Birdland’, came to life. 2012 saw her back in the studio writing new music, this time in an all girl group with Anika Moa & Hollie Smith.
These days designing jewellery and coming up with ideas for creative collaborations, or “Bohlaborations” as she likes to call them, is a favourite pastime. She’s also quite fond of a name pun.
Previous Bohlabs include a make-up product launched by Shiseido under her name, a Monarch butterfly inspired rug for Designer Rugs ‘Kiwi Icon’ collection, a Bohsé wine, and designing the 2019 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards Tui Award in the same year that her band stellar* celebrated the 20th anniversary of their chart topping album Mix.
